The geographical position and continental climate, with an average annual temperature of 9.3 to 10.9 °C and rainfall of 647–820 mm, mean the quality of raspberries from Serbia greatly exceeds that of raspberries from other parts of the world.
Raspberry from Serbia is characterized by a high percentage of dry matter of 8–14%, which speaks to multiple advantages in the quality, utilization and technological value of the fruit.
The most widely used raspberry variety in Serbia is Willamette, characterized by exceptional taste and dark red colour even after deep freezing. Apart from Willamette, Meeker is also very popular.
